Relicensing in Shetland

At the start of December our dogs and handler headed up to Shetland to do relicensing with Michael from Dogs Against Drugs Shetland.

A bit more info about relicensing: Obviously our dogs have to be highly trained to do what they do, but they also need to undergo relicensing every year.

This ensures that dogs and handlers are maintaining their operational capability.

So, what does this entail? The relicensing exercises are a series of searches conducted in all the search exercises the dogs are trained for.

This includes Vehicle Search, Exterior Area / Route search, Building Search, Scanning People and baggage. The dogs are also tested on scent identification during these searches.
