Due to the restrictions caused by the current pandemic, we have been focusing on carrying out searches at both Kirkwall and Stromness Post Offices, and also at points of entry to Orkney such as the ferry ports and airport, which has resulted in a number of ‘finds’.

Police Scotland, with the assistance of Orkney Drugs Dog, have confirmed that in the period 01 October 2019 to 15 July 2020 the following have been seized and removed from circulation:

• 4KG Herbal Cannabis – worth approximately £40k.

• Over half KG of Resin Cannabis – worth approximately £2,500.

• 100g of Cocaine – worth approximately £8,500.

• 5g grams of Heroin – worth approximately £400.

• Various tablets, powders and edibles worth approximately £7,000.
