A fantastic time at the KGS Christmas Fair!

Over the weekend of November 16th and 17th our charity took part in the Christmas Fair held at Kirkwall Grammar School (KGS).

We had a fantastic time, with board members Moira Kelday and Eileen Walls manning our table.

Public events like this are a good opportunity to raise the profile of the charity and (once folk have been reeled in with a competition) speak to them about the work our handler and dogs do.

Speaking of competitions, we ran another lucky squares where the top prize was a hamper of goodies, with a couple more prizes for the runners-up.

We are always blown away by the generosity of the local businesses that donate prizes for us to include in the hampers – and this year was no exception (see pic above!)

A huge ‘thank you’ to all those businesses and to everyone who stopped by the table to speak to us.

When all was said and done, we took in £475.10 and received a share of the main raffle and ‘soldier hunt’ held as part of the fair.

1st Prize: Hamper and Vouchers – Kirstin Hourie

2nd Prize: Highland Park Whisky – Kerry Leask

3rd Prize: Williamson’s Voucher – Linda Ross
